As a Shop Service Technician, you will work on a wide range of forestry, construction, and industrial equipment while continuing to develop your technical expertise through hands-on experience, manufacturer training, and exposure to advanced diagnostic technology.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Shop Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining customer equipment in a fully equipped service facility.

Working as part of an experienced service team, you will use specialized tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical knowledge to complete repairs safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of equipment and continue expanding your skills across multiple technologies and equipment platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues on forestry and construction equipment.
  • Perform equipment repairs, inspections, preventative maintenance, and servicing.
  • Complete component rebuilds and major equipment repairs.
  • Utilize manufacturer diagnostic software, electronic testing equipment, and specialized tools to identify and resolve issues.
  • Inspect equipment and recommend repairs or maintenance to improve reliability and performance.
  • Complete service documentation, work orders, and repair reports accurately.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians and service department team members.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Deliver quality workmanship while supporting a strong customer service culture.

Equipment Experience

Technicians will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment, including:

  • Forestry equipment
  • Construction equipment
  • Material handlers
  • Heavy industrial machinery
  • Attachments and related equipment
  • Various makes and models from leading manufacturers

Qualifications & Experience

We are seeking skilled tradespeople who enjoy troubleshooting, take pride in their work, and thrive in a team-based environment.

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to use computers and electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and following proper procedures.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset.
