Position Overview

We are seeking a driven and experienced Production Manager to lead the daily operations of our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to production scheduling, team management, and quality assurance. A background in the seafood industry, will be considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and motivate production staff to maintain high performance and accountability.
  • Supervise the production process to ensure output meets established quality and efficiency standards.
  • Track and analyze daily production metrics to ensure schedules are met and deadlines achieved.
  • Ensure products are manufactured on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance (QA) teams during audits and to resolve any production issues effectively.
  • Enforce and monitor compliance with all health and safety regulations on the production floor.
  • Review and maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Investigate and document production variances (overruns and underruns), conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and adherence to employee work schedules.
  • Conduct regular assessments of employee skills and provide training and development opportunities.
  • Actively participate in the development and optimization of production schedules.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, product quality, and production speed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within operations, plant management, or production.
  • Proven experience managing complex supply chains and high-volume production environments.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, quality control, and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the seafood processing industry, particularly shellfish, is a strong asset.
