About the Opportunity

We are working with a well-established and highly respected professional accounting firm based in Charlottetown, PE. The organization offers exceptional technical resources, career development opportunities, and a collaborative team environment.

Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking an Audit & Assurance Senior Accountant Senior to support its assurance practice and work closely with Managers and Partners on a diverse client portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant ready to step into a leadership-track role within public practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, execution, and completion of assurance engagements (audits, reviews, and compilations)
  • Assist in managing engagement timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Review working papers and financial statements for accuracy and compliance with professional standards
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients on day-to-day engagement matters
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and co-op students
  • Assist with more complex accounting, auditing, and technical issues as they arise
  • Ensure adherence to firm policies, quality control standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Build and maintain strong, professional client relationships
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes and workflows

Qualifications & Experience

  • CPA designation (or close to completion) required
  • 3–5+ years of progressive public accounting experience
  • Solid experience with audit, review, and compilation engagements
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and assurance methodologies
  • Experience reviewing work and supporting junior staff (an asset)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a team environment
