A leading heavy equipment dealership in Atlantic Canada is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to take ownership of day-to-day service operations in their Fredericton facility. This is a non-working leadership role, focused on workflow management, operational efficiency, and team coordination within a busy service department.

Role Overview:

This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring the service department operates efficiently, profitably, and with strong customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring a solid mechanical background combined with strong organizational and operational leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate daily shop operations, technician workflow, and job scheduling
  • Drive efficiency, productivity, and turnaround times across the service department
  • Act as the key liaison between service, parts, warranty, and management teams
  • Oversee work order management, job costing accuracy, and service documentation
  • Manage and support warranty processes, ensuring compliance and proper submissions
  • Monitor job progress, prioritize workload, and remove operational bottlenecks
  • Support continuous improvement in service processes and shop performance
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational best practices
  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to the service team

Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical background with solid understanding of heavy equipment service operations
  • Previous experience in a supervisory, lead hand, or foreman role strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage workflow, people, and operational priorities
  • Working knowledge of parts processes and warranty administration
  • Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment
  • Proficiency with service management systems and digital work order processes
