A community-based, nonprofit organization is seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Therapist to provide trauma-informed counselling services to survivors of sexual violence.

In this role, you will manage a full caseload of individual clients and facilitate group therapy sessions. You will work within a feminist, pro-choice, and anti-oppressive framework, using evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support healing, recovery, and long-term resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed counselling to individuals and groups
  • Maintain accurate, confidential client records and required statistics
  • Participate in staff meetings, peer consultation, and clinical supervision
  • Collaborate with colleagues, community partners, and allied professionals to support clients
  • Stay current with best practices in trauma-informed and survivor-centred therapy

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Registered and in good standing with a relevant professional body (e.g., RSW, CCC, RP)
  • 2–5 years of counselling or clinical therapy experience; experience in trauma recovery, sexual assault, or gender-based violence is a strong asset
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic groups considered an asset
  • Demonstrated trauma-specific therapeutic skills (e.g., EMDR, IFS, DBR, DBT)
  • Strong understanding of feminist, pro-choice, and anti-oppressive approaches to practice

Terms of Employment

  • Full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week)
  • Proof of professional registration
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Signed confidentiality agreement
  • Salary Range: [to be confirmed / commensurate with experience]
  • Vacation: 3 weeks annually (pro-rated)
  • Sick Leave: 9.375 hours (1.25 days) per month
  • Statutory Holidays: 16 paid holidays per year
