About the Role

The Compact Equipment Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of compact construction equipment, including loaders, excavators, and tractors. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset. The successful candidate will work efficiently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain compact construction equipment
  • Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults and complete repairs accurately
  • Complete preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding equipment issues and repairs
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and repair records
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and manufacturer guidelines
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced service environment
  • Stay current with evolving equipment technology through ongoing training

Qualifications & Skills

  • Certification from a recognized technical school or equivalent experience
  • Canadian Red Seal in Heavy Duty Equipment (preferred)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and service equipment
  • Commitment to workplace safety and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented
