Service Manager

Under the supervision of the Branch Manager the Service Manager provides leadership to the service department to meet company goals through productive staffing, customer retention, mechanic/technician training, and quality workmanship while improving productivity, reducing costs, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and providing excellent customer service.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the service department.
  • Serve as principal interface with customers regarding services including provision of estimates, addressing customer concerns and complaints.
  • Providing expert advice for technical repairs and customer service.
  • Prioritize all work orders, assign work orders to technicians/mechanics.
  • Oversee and assist the service clerk in the invoicing process and explanation of work to the customer.
  • Play a role in the accounts receivable process.
  • Supervision of staff while creating and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
  • Hire, retain, and ensure proper training of staff.
  • Provide effective feedback on staff performance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience  
  • Ideally we are looking for individuals with 5+ years of related work experience (heavy Equipment preferred).
  • Strong background in service and be able to lead and organize a service team as well as handle the daily operations in a busy branch environment.
  • Computer skills (MS Office) and systems knowledge.
  • Experience in the forestry and construction industry would be considered an asset.
  • Sound mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to work in an environment of changing priorities.
  • Ability to work 40 + hours per week.
  • Bilingual (French/English).
