Controls Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a Controls Technician for our client in Wyoming County, New York. The ideal candidate will manage various tasks related to automation and controls.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to company policies and proactively addressing unsafe behaviors or conditions.
- Serve as a resource for the facility, collaborating with operators, engineers, and external consultants on maintenance issues and projects, including identifying necessary hardware and software solutions.
- Troubleshoot and trainusers on PLCs, robotic controls, automated equipment, and instrumentation systems.
- Adapt existing programs to meet user needs, including databases and PLC software.
- Deliver quality products and services while following safety and quality control procedures.
- Manage capital and expense projects as needed.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation technology preferred.
- Minimum three years in industrial controls; familiarity with analog/digital instrument control and automated machinery.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; conflict resolution; project and time management expertise.
- Self-motivated, hands-on, and able to build professional trust within a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Flexible working hours, including potential weekends and overtime.
- Ability to respond to urgent situations outside normal hours.
- Prolonged periods of standing or sitting; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in various plant environments with appropriate PPE.
