Parts Technician

Location: Various, throughout Saskatchewan

Purpose:

Responsible for selling, receiving, and delivery of parts and accessories. In addition, performs in-store customer service, overall organizational promotion, and stocking duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers by problem solving and troubleshooting to locate required parts and find appropriate resources
  • Provide support in-person or via telephone
  • Sell products and/or services to meet customer needs
  • Provide customer service that meets, and often exceeds, company expectations
  • Record sales and/or counter transactions
  • Verify receipting-in of shipments
  • Assist with placing machine down and stock orders in their proper inventory locations
  • Supply Service Technicians with parts as required
  • Perform routine housekeeping tasks
  • Assist with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Maintain condition of department vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Work to build and maintain constructive co-worker relations, and effective and productive team dynamics
  • Ensure all safety regulations and requirements are followed by self and others
  • Participate in training programs as required for the development of skills and knowledge
  • Ability to read, write, and speak effectively with customers and/or other employees
  • Ability to lift heavy parts, 25lbs repeatedly; ability to lift over 25lbs, as needed
  • Ability to work with various products sold within the department
  • Ability to work flexible hours, varying shifts, weekends and holidays, if necessary
  • Valid driver’s license required

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12; Vocational or technical training and/or Parts Management Technician certification is a definite asset; or a combination of education and experience
  • Agricultural parts and machinery knowledge
  • Experience working with business and software systems
  • Farming background/experience is an asset
  • 3 years’ experience within a Parts Department environment is preferred
  • Forklift license is an asset
