Tax Manager

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established, respected professional accounting firm based in Charlottetown, PE, serving clients across Prince Edward Island and Atlantic Canada. This firm is part of a strong regional alliance of independent CPA firms, offering enhanced collaboration, resources, and professional support.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their high-performing team. This role works closely with senior leadership and plays a critical role in delivering tax compliance, planning, and advisory services to a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and prepare corporate reorganizations and advanced tax planning
  • Support succession and estate planning initiatives
  • Assist with tax audits, reviews, assessments, voluntary disclosures, and notices of objection
  • Conduct tax research and respond to complex tax inquiries
  • Manage a variety of complex tax engagements, including:
  • Corporate tax returns
  • Personal tax returns
  • Trust returns
  • Provide ongoing technical tax guidance and support to internal team members
  • Work closely with senior partners on strategic tax matters

Qualifications & Experience

  • CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting designation
  • Completion of CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course
  • 3–5+ years of full-time, progressive tax experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
  • High level of confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including:
  • CaseWare
  • TaxPrep
  • Sage
  • QuickBooks
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work additional hours during peak tax periods
  • Local travel as required to meet client needs
