Quality Technician

About the Role

We’re seeking a Quality Technician to join our production team and help ensure every product meets the highest standards of food safety, legality, and quality. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for testing, inspecting, and validating processes and products at various stages of production, supporting a safe and compliant manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct inspections of materials, equipment, and production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform foreign material detection challenges and equipment checks, as applicable.
  • Carry out routine quality audits focused on housekeeping, GMPs, and prerequisite programs.
  • Execute analytical testing on in-process and finished products following prescribed procedures.
  • Validate analytical test methods and maintain accurate data entry in the quality database.
  • Support and coach team members on GMP compliance and food safety practices.
  • Maintain accurate and legible test records, ensuring proper document control and backup.
  • Provide coverage and support for fellow Quality Technicians as needed (vacation, absences, etc.).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality systems and standards.
  • Work flexible hours, including after-hours, weekends, and holidays as required.

What You Bring

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of related laboratory or quality experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and FSSC standards is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Experience with SAP or similar systems is an advantage.

Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all documentation and testing.
  • Solid understanding of quality systems, testing procedures, and production processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong initiative and a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FDA, FSMA, HACCP).

Work Environment

  • Plant-based environment with exposure to temperature variations, moisture, and moving equipment.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and reaching; occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires adherence to safety and EHS protocols at all times.
