Service Technician - Heavy Duty

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our clients team near Summerside, PE. This hands-on role involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of agricultural & construction machinery and vehicles. The successful candidate will be highly skilled in mechanical systems, capable of using computerized diagnostic tools, and committed to working safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on machinery and related equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and transmission issues using both manual and computerized methods.
  • Repair or replace faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime for equipment.
  • Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain detailed records of all repairs, services, and parts used.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in agricultural or heavy equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in reading technical manuals and using diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labour and handle tools and machinery.
  • Must supply own tools.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Must be willing to provide professional references.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • On-call shifts and overtime as required
  • Occasional weekend work as needed
